Before you sits an expanse of nothingness. It is an empty chasm that draws the idle mind with a numbing sensation of scale and significance. Dotted across the plains are oases of existence. These patches of land are your bastion from the expanse, but within lies god-like beings that care little for your plight. As these Wills enact their will upon the denizens of the expanse, will you become a plaything in their games and whims? Or will you embrace change and power to stand alongside your friends and allies, whatever consequences may come? Spoiler Between is an original RPG developed by 6six6 in RPG Maker MV. Taking inspiration from the Persona series, Xenoblade series, Trails/Kiseki series, and Final Fantasy 14 for story and gameplay mechanics, the game sends the player character into a mysterious world where god-like beings called "Wills" can determine fate and meld reality to their whim. Over the course of the game, the player traverses a variety of uniquely themed dungeons called an "Oasis", where they must struggle against or embrace transformative elements that range from changing sex, catgirls, fantasy heroes, cyberscapes, and more. They take part in strategic battles designed around offering engaging combat where tactics in preparation and in-battle decision making are key. No grinding is required, and a large amount of flexibility is provided to develop strategies that are your own rather than being the solution. Difficulty options are provided, and optional superbosses exist across the game's story for those who want to master the combat and truly challenge themselves. The game has a number of adult themes and scenes. These are uncommon to be the focus, and the approach would be better described as not shying away from said content when appropriate for the story. This game has been my passion project since late 2020, and the response to it from the community has pushed me on to keep refining and expanding it as my plan for the story develops in each release. If you are reading this and think this sounds interesting, I sincerely hope you can enjoy it as well! Written for version 0.17.4 I shall preface this by saying, this is not a porn game. This isn't like the majority of gender bender games on this site. The main character won't get magically turned into the biggest slut in the lands, getting railed by anything and everything. This is first, and foremost a story driven game, with some occasional nudity or light erotica. That's it. If you're not interested in a game with a focus on story, characters and puzzles, you won't like this. But if you are, this game is a absolute gem. Story: To avoid spoilers, I'll say the story is very much one about mysteries. You and your friends are suddenly attacked by strange creatures at work, and, injured and dying, the main character accepts an offer by a mysterious entity to survive. Waking up in a strange place, surrounded by a white void, you now set out to learn more about the entities that control this world, the cult that landed you in this mess and, maybe, find a way home. All the while, you are changing, bit by bit into someone else. The writing, and story is the strongest points of this game. It's far more engaging than I thought it would be as I started playing, and several of the characters have grown beyond the role I thought they would play in the beginning. Even one-note, joke characters are gradually showing sides to themselves that imply greater roles to play. It's a story of friendship, support, tension, mystery, betrayal and bittersweet moments. The calm moments when you can have some fun with friends, the tension of negotiating uneasy truces, trying to determine who can be trusted. One of my favorite moments where the one with the schoolteacher, and what happened to her. It was a moment of melancholy, and for a game full of fantastical things, so mundane it was shocking. That being said, this is a rather linear story that won't give you much in the way of choices. Even knowing something's wrong, you need to step into the trap, so to say. Choices are more limited to the reactions and attitude of the main character, as different choices can affect the changes he's going through. The game includes a walkthrough, and if you're aiming for a particular result, you're going to want to check that. The consequences of choices are not always easy to predict. One slight critique regarding the writing is the density. Some scenes feel they drag on for a bit to long, as the language used in many places can be rather verbose. Gameplay: This is much like a classic RPGM game. You move around on the different maps, trying to achieve some goal or another. Sometimes, that means trying to find hidden buttons to open the way forward. Sometimes that means fighting through a gauntlet of enemies, or sometimes trying to solve puzzles or defeat a boss. Battles are turn-based, where you and your party try to defeat the enemy using different abilities based on your class. Classes are almost like a piece of equipment. If you've unlocked it, you can swap between them when outside of combat. This goes for your companions to. The mage, can be played as a fighter. Though some of the special moves you gain during the story will still act like they are in their original roles. The game doesn't have classic levels. XP (called insight) is instead used to upgrade other mechanics of the game to improve the party as a whole. Level-ups happen during the story, when new classes become available. And tying in to the gender bender aspect of the game, unlocking a class also means you accept more changes. Boss battles act kind of like puzzles. The boss uses different mechanics against you that will force you to adapt to the situation, or incur either massive damage or other debuffs. To best succeed, you'll need a balanced party, with a variety of abilities. Against regular mobs, you can mostly just blast them with strong abilities then retreat and recover health and mana at a rest spot. Sometimes, however, the mob battles get a bit tedious. Depending of the difficulty, they can be a bit of a slog to get through, especially as you're trying to solve a puzzle and advance the story. On easier difficulties they instead turn almost into an annoying distraction you blow through in seconds. Is there a fix to that? I don't know really. Music and theatrics: Not something I normally think to much about, at least not for games on this site. But here, I say it deserves a mention. The creator's got excellent feeling for using the music to elevate the moments in the game. Ready to face the Grand Champion of the arena? The build up is like in a wrestling show, with lights and pumping music as the crowd gets hyped for a clash of titans. Investigating a mystery? A creeping sense of tension, gradually building to something big. Likewise is the theatrics of the game. Characters working to sabotage you during a cutscene can be sceen doing so in the background. Other time, it's the sudden smash-cuts when something surprising happens. Using the simple stock sounds of the engine to give feeling and gravitas to a scene. Everything simply, ties the writing together. It helps to build the scene into what the creator intended. Is this The Perfect Game? No, and I don't think that's a realistic expectation of anything really. But if you're okay with the flaws that do exist, and approach it like a serious game that intends to tell a story rather than get you off. If you do that, I say, that this is among the greatest games you can find on this site.

No idea how this game got 4.5 star. This game is such dogshit it's unreal how even generic copypaste rpgm hentai games are better than this. The combat is just boring. ALL fights with an exception being 3 superbosses (which are basically puzzles, there's no strategy or tactics involved in them, you either figure out their completely random gimmick, and if it doesn't sound too bad, the game doesn't give you ANY clues on how they work,so your only choice is to repeat same fight for a billion times) are boring. Generic mobs are more of an annoying hindrance than actual fights, they pretty much 0 damage yet have way too much hp which, so every battle with them feels like punching a turtle with your bare fists. Bosses are, however, on a whole another level of bullshit. They all have same mechanics, with some of them having ultimates (most of which don't make any difference anyway), so by the 3rd chapter i was VERY tired of fighting the same shit every time. They get some new ones every once in while, but it doesn't make any difference, you just memorise how every type (mechanic) of attack looks like and respond to it like some sort of a fucking robot. I cannot express how much of a disappointment gameplay is, compared to what i've heard people say about this game. You are practically required to read the walkthrough to get content which you want to see. For example, you might think that Spoiler Choosing to go with a character you want at the end of the 3rd chapter would result in getting content with relevant character... but nope, in chapter 4 you would never see the character you chose. You might think that the you would see the character you chose in chapter 5? No, fuck you. You won't see him/her untill intermission of chapter 5, and there's only 6 chapters (only the intermission of the sixth is complete, btw), so you only saw relevant character for 2 fucking chapters. . There's generally no way of telling what are going to get from choices in this game, which makes it very fucking annoying to play it. Oh yeah, the plot itself is just boring. There's 0 moments where you feel that there is any threat to the mc whatsoever, any time mc "loses" in one way or another there's always someone or something that saves them. Characters are boring, there's 0 character development. Chapters are just copypasted shit, mc gets stuck in oasis, gets transformed, goes through several puzzles and quests while fighting bosses between them, there's intermission, you are hit with several bosses that are mildly harder that what came before and the chapter ends, you start another, cycle repeats. Yeah, that's like every single chapter in the game. Overall it's a hard skip. There's also very little adult content , you might as well not see any of it aside from naked mc sprite in the mirror. If you want hentai rpgm game go play something else, if you want to play a story/battle orientated game go play something else. It's just not worth the time or efforts to beat this game, ESPECIALLY since it's unfinished. I guess if i had a thing for genderbend/feminisation i would've given this game stars, but i don't, so i can only give this game 1 stars

Yeah, I don't get the complaints - this game is not a porn game or anything, it does have some sexual content, but the main focus is on other things. This is a proper jrpg with an above average writing that does what it sets out to do - tell a story supported by all the other gameplay systems.

Guy below me is literally complaining because there isn't any adult content in this game, like my guy do you not see the tags, it's clearly mentioned that there is no adult content here. Btw the game is awesome and is one of the best in this genre, if you are into this genre you gotta play it

Never understod why a game like this would ever be put on a site for adult games, theres nothing to come for here no sex scenes no cgs no sex art just nothing what so ever. Story is decent and characters are fine but i couldent complete the 70+ hours of content knowing sex is just text based, it just dosent do a thing for me and not what i expect from games on this site. Game it self isent all that bad but i got bored after a few hours of nothing happening. The sandbox is the standard for this type of game, alot of fighting which also gets boring pretty fast again mostly due to never having any kind of rewards. Music is generic stuff not bad just bland like everything else. Characters are cute enough but it dosent really matter since its not really an adult game. Supprised every review is 5 stars, not supprised by the low number of reviews though since there really isent anything to come for if your looking for a fap or any adult stuff, so ill be happy to make my 1 star review so people know what they are getting into.

One of the best RPGM games on this entire site. The game is carried by it's battle mechanics, storytelling and characters. Reminiscent of the persona games for me. Plot is very interesting and it is clear that the creator put some real thinking into it. Even the RPGM mechanics are well used. There is no mindless grinding and all the battles are well balanced, and actually challenging as an RPG game should you be into that with the proper difficulty setting. H content is sparse and text only but that's not the main draw of this game imo. Looking forward to future updates.

From the beginning on I felt pretty concerned about accepting the premise of the main characters transformation and there certainly are scenes that push my comfort zones but giving the player the choice about how accepting or resisting you are towards the changes works great. This game lives off its combat, characters and intriguing story. I wouldnt believe it if someone told me in advance how much I could lose myself in this game. Its a shame that this game is limited in terms of graphical interactions between characters that are most often described rather then visualized but if the gameplay and story are this captivating then its something that can be accepted nontheless

Last time i have played this game it was in version 0.3 or 0.5. I really enjoyed the story. It reached me in ways that I would've never expected. I honestly cannot wait to revisit it now that more work has been done on the story. I expect greatness because it was already great.

Followed this game for a while, definite rec, little to no lewd, this is a linear story RPG and in my opinion does it well, love the character interactions and enjoy the boss fights. My main criticism is the early game has lots of exposition and long dialogue boxes (. . . . . <- stuff like this), favourite oasis is def the castle/casino. 5/5 <3

This is probably the best RPGM game I've played in general. Pros : None of the story requires grinding. The only 2 things you can grind for are either decorations or to stockpile items, the game handles levels through a class system which you can upgrade. A ton of content, I had 73 hours as of 0.15.1, with that just being through main quests and side quests. Its well written, the story is engaging and the characters are too. Cons : There are a lot of random encounters in the map, luckily they're of mobs that are quick to beat, but it can get annoying. There are a decent amount of runbacks, which makes sense with the lore of the game, but can get tedious at times. There are some strange story decisions which just felt random, for example Calum and Penelope switched bodies for a bit, which didn't feel like it added towards the plot.
