1/5 - Bad game; didn't get me off ~2-3 hours long (as of v0.11.3) Imagine Corruption of Champions with only dudes, only 2 wild areas + 1 town + 1 dungeon, and with a more complicated (but still easy) combat system - that's Dawn of Corruption . Just like in CoC , there isn't much story to speak of. The porn actually has character busts and the writing isn't terrible, but the problem is that most characters only have 2 scenes. These scenes have a handful of variations the more times you grind them, but they aren't enough to carry the game. If development was just starting I'd probably have given it 3 stars, but the dev says it's nearly finished. + More geared toward players who like to top (which is uncommon for a gay game) - The whole growth kink - with absurd lines such as "your cock is now bigger than a baseball bat" - is NOT erotic - Most mobs have a strange distribution of scenes. Rather than the standard "you win = top; you lose = bottom", they'll have "you win = no scene; you lose = your choice top or bottom" or vice versa. With how easy the combat is, you'll miss out on quite a few top scenes unless you intentionally lose.
First and foremost this is 100% a muscle growth fetish game. The main theme is corrupting yourself and other characters you meet, causing them to grow. If that isn't your thing don't bother playing. If you are into that then this is a game you will probably enjoy. The Story is fairly basic but the fun of it is the large number of different endings. The game also comes with a sort of New Game +, where after unlocking each ending you gain a special perk that carries over to the next playthrough. Combat is a simple card based system. Throughout the game as you defeat characters, corrupt yourself and level up, you will unlock new moves that you can add to your "deck". The combat descriptions are well written and usually incorporate sexy dialogue. After each fight you can choose to leave with just the XP and essence, the games unique currency, or you can choose to give in to corruption and your more base desires. Doing so usually results in corruption. Art in the game is good and constantly being updated, however there isn't a ton of it. Most main characters have it but few enemies. This will most likely change in future updates, which consistently come out monthly. There are some sound effects and music but they are all pretty basic, some grunts and moans. Sex scenes are well done and there are plenty of them in the game, each having several pages of description. I should also mention that this is primarily a text game, so you'll be doing a lot of reading. Overall I had a lot of fun with it and personally look forward to the final product.
Overall a really boring, dry porn game. It seems to strive for a lot of things, but ends up falling short on most. The game is definitely intended for people into muscle growth, which isn't my thing outright, but even that is lacking. You lose or gain muscle mass from events or winning/losing, yet it just happens in a sentence and is over. Even if I were into muscle change, this game wouldn't do anything for me. The best thing I could compare it to is Flexible Survival, which puts some emphasis on transformation. I'm not into that, but it actually describes it, even if only briefly. Its 'brief' is a paragraph. This game gives a sentence. On top of that, the porn itself is only slightly lengthier. Sequences of lewds are rare and each and all lack in detail. Some are a few paragraphs, others are a single. For all this game has and has not, it's at least consistent. Consistently lacking in everything it does. OooooooOOOOOOOOooOOOoOo. But yeah, boring, lackluster, bland. I've followed this for a while now, and its GUI developed pretty nicely, but that's honestly it. Content is hard to reach, the game relies heavily on horrible RNG for finding new places or events, and the gameplay is...not great. It's ambitious and unique, but its idea doesn't translate well to the execution. They try for a deck builder, but the actual usage is horribly flawed. The combat GUI is buggy, clunky, and just an overall mess. All in all, not even sure who this game is actually for anymore. It does a lot, but none of it with gusto. Even its main focus seems rushed and just thrown out there, which makes the entire experience very lackluster.
It's a wonderful story that is still in development. Although there could still be a few improvements, such as more pictures or a walkthrough, it's still fun to play through it again and again, to go different ways and to get more and more achievements.
