Once, there was an honorable samurai in the service of the Shogun, but by night, he transformed into an artist painting forbidden desires with his brush. When a shunga artwork depicting the Shogun’s sister leaked beyond the palace walls, a great scandal erupted. Stripped of his rank and expelled from the Shogun’s service, he became a ronin. The Shogun remained silent… but Kuroda Nobumasa, the powerful daimyo of the Ashina region, would not forgive this disgrace.
