Scarlet Maiden is a Unity adventure with 2D animated visuals from Otterside Games. You play Scarlet, a female protagonist and the final Maiden of the Sacred Flame, who must confront the Prime Evil as it awakens beneath Sinner's Rest Abbey. The fantasy journey includes exploring shifting Underworld dungeons, collecting weapons, spells, and items, and using special abilities to harvest sin and grow stronger through repentance. Combat is part of the loop, while adult encounters appear with characters you meet.
The current build is v1.3.3, released August 9, 2023 for Windows in English, with uncensored content. Development remains ongoing, and the changelog notes v1.3.2 improved error detection and file handling, fixed the Wild Fire spell despawning during room changes, corrected Journal Tab input, adjusted Slot Machine animation states, added translation and UI fixes, and reduced the Chain of Ice detonation timer from three seconds to two. Earlier v1.3.1 added Hard Mode after normal completion, an achievement for beating it, and quality-of-life updates.

Hard Mode
For those of you who didn't find the game challenging enough on regular difficulty, there is now a hard mode to try your skills on. Hard mode is unlocked after beating the game on normal, and for everyone who has already completed the game, it should be unlocked.

Bugfixes
Fixed bug which caused melee and spell critical hit to proc twice per attack.
Correctly reset Scarlet's state and buffs after beating the run
Fixed bug where it was possible for some enemies to be knocked inside walls.
Fixed issue where Corrupted Maiden explosion attack didn't deal any damage to player.
Fixed Golden Slime detection/attack range settings that caused her movement to bug out.
Adjusted Golden Slime spell spawn position to prevent projectiles to spawn inside ceiling. Golden slime no longer staggers during her attack.
Fixed Triboob Crusher movement when detecting Scarlet on platform higher platforms.
Pause menu to use also fixed system inputs in addition to custom bindings to make sure menu stays always usable.
Fix to key binding menu where trying to bind Esc key closed the menu.

The Twisted Sanctum
The fifth and final area of the main storyline is called the Twisted Sanctum. It is the domain of the main villain of Scarlet Maiden. Fight your way through new enemies and obstacles and face the final boss who is waiting for you at the end! The ending sequence has also been added to the game, so after you defeat the final boss, you’ll get to see what awaits Scarlet after the world is saved.
Character Updates
We’ve added several new lewd characters for you to meet in the Twisted Sanctum! There’s also a new side quest available from Misty, and the maximum level of the NPCs at Sinner’s Rest Abbey have been increased, so they can be levelled up to provide you with even better gear! We’ve also added new story texts to the dungeon, which conclude the stories of the First Maiden and the Lewd Explorer.
New items, skills, and achievements
With the new area comes new weapons, rings, amulets, and a new spell! We’ve also added new skills to the skill tree, so you can level up Scarlet even further. There are also some new achievements to unlock, and plenty of new stuff for the gallery!
