About To colonize the stars

To colonize the stars is a sci-fi sandbox from CodeGremlin, built in HTML with AI CG visuals. It is text based and follows Miria Enock, a scout sent ahead of humanity's colony fleet after Earth has become uninhabitable. She wakes on an alien world with ninety days to prepare it for the main ship, managing survival tasks while a ship computer scans, analyzes, and prints tools. The story centers on exploring a contaminated lake, testing local life, mining, and learning how the planet is changing her.

Development is ongoing with the current build, R1, released on October 9, 2026. It runs on Windows in English and is uncensored. The R1 changelog notes an initial zone release, so the available content is the first part of the project rather than a finished game.

Developer's description

Earth is dying, and humanity's last hope is a fleet of colony ships. You play Miria Enock, a lone scout sent ahead to a strange new planet to make it safe for the colonists. You have 90 days, a talkative ship computer, and a lake that tastes wrong. Find food and water, build what you need to survive, and find out what the planet is doing to your body. Spoiler Plot It is 2187, and Earth is beyond saving. Its land is dead, its rivers are poisoned, and its rulers have chosen to leave rather than repair it. Colony ships are launched, and one of them, Eden's Promise, carries a single scout to prepare a new world for the colonists. Eden's Promise leaves Earth behind. You play Miria Enock, woken from stasis alone on an alien planet with 90 days until the main ship arrives. The atmosphere is breathable, but your supplies are not enough. You have a suit, a landing capsule, a ship computer that can scan, analyse and 3D print, and not much else. Home for the next 90 days. Your first problem is water. The nearby lake is contaminated with a mutagen, and after one thirsty drink your body starts to change. To survive you have to work out what is poisoning the lake. That means studying the local frogs, testing the mushrooms in the forest, mining minerals in a cave, and using the computer to print traps, tools, a backpack and solar panels. It tastes stale. That should have been the first warning. Every day you manage food, water and time, and every choice can change your body, from breasts to hair, weight, freckles and more. Somewhere on the planet is a source of power the computer is quietly worried about, and signs that you are not the first to be here.
