Unseen Instincts is an adult Ren'Py visual novel by DemonLad, presented with 3D rendered characters and animated scenes. It follows Detective Nicole, a sharp and passionate investigator, as she works with police colleagues to track a killer in the city of Odyssey. Five brutal deaths have left no clear motive or clues, and the story asks whether she can solve the case without becoming trapped in deception. The game blends crime investigation with humor and lesbian themes, while you make choices through Nicole's perspective.
The current release is v0.70b, dated May 26, 2026, and development is ongoing. It is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android, in English, and is uncensored. This build adds more than 820 new full HD renders, excluding animated ones, plus 12 new full HD lewd animations and over 4000 new script lines. Old saves no longer work because the game was rebuilt. Players can start fresh for now, though the next update is expected to involve another rebuild and new renders up to v0.25, so progressing from that point is recommended.

The victims, five of them, were all brutally slain, and the killer remains at large, with no apparent motive and no clues to go on. Enter Detective Nicole, a brilliant and strikingly beautiful investigator with a sharp mind and a fiery spirit. Will Nicole and her police colleagues be able to apprehend the murderer, or will she become entangled in a web of deceit? Put yourself in Nicole's shoes to find out.

My name is DemonLad. I've wanted to make Visual Novels for a while, especially with the 3D art style, but I never had enough time. After being laid off, I struggled to find work or other opportunities, so I have been developing my first 3D VN project, Unseen Instincts. I did create a real-life character game in the past, but umm, it was so badly thrashed that I would avoid discussing it. So, after three months of learning Daz and Blender, here I am, presenting the development of my first game.
