When Silver Burned is a text-based kinetic novel by Earliestbird, made in Ren'Py with 2D and AI CG art. You play Kalsin, a Wounded hunter with silver eyes and no surge, moving through the Ember Republic while seeking a legend that might bring him redemption. The setting follows an archipelago of humanity where the Veiled advance across the Easter Expanse, mythos sightings increase, and tensions between Clenn and Wounded grow severe. Its themes include male protagonist, teasing, and no sexual content.
The current build is version 0.4, corresponding to Chapter 9, released December 8, 2023. Development is ongoing. It runs on Windows in English and is uncensored. This update added Chapter 9 and included UI and typo fixes. Earlier builds expanded the story with new chapters, character images, portrait additions, and interface changes.

Kalsin never wanted to be different - not his ghostly silver eyes, and certainly not his complete lack of surge. But life cursed him with both, and now he's a Wounded hunter roaming the Ember Republic, searching for an elusive legend that may hold his redemption. The winds of change sweep across the archipelago of humanity: The Veiled gain ground on the Easter Expanse, mythos sightings are on the rise, and tensions between Clenn and Wounded stretch to a breaking point. A savior will be necessary. But this newfound redemption may become his ruin.
